The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY
THE QUESTION
RESPONSES
BACKGROUND

I'd like to take this opportunity to try once again to explain why I think that Rand is an a-priorist.

Rand describes capitalism in terms of what did not, has not, and indeed cannot exist-a society free of any regulation in economic affairs. She then proceeds to argue logically on the basis of a-priori axioms to show that if this system would be created, the life process would be enhanced.

While Rand argues this is an "Objective" truth, it is in fact a truth that can only be "proven" logically. It is a tautology.
