The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY
THE QUESTION
RESPONSES
BACKGROUND

Cultural anthropology itself is to blame for the drift into the irrelevant confines of Modern Language Association jargon and post-modern hermeneutic minutiae. Long ago cultural anthropology gave up being a scientific discipline and decided to become a cradle for political activists and propagandists interested primarily in proving their own peculiar worldviews. This is why we have Rigoberta Menchú. It's only fitting that the entire discipline is in decline.
