The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY
THE QUESTION
RESPONSES
BACKGROUND

One thing that is being lost in all this is while there are horror stories a plenty, there are good programs out there where student welfare does come first. In fact, in my experience, in departments where students are cared about, where they feel adequate support exists, and the like, things like length of funding, whether people are funded, equity of distribution of resources become relatively small issues.
