The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY

Responses

In the U.S. businesses are free to make contributions, stipends, and grants to higher education. Microsoft Corporation is free to do the same.

Members of higher education in this country are free to accept these enticements without being obligated to support Microsoft. A simple phrase added, "This presentation was sponsored in part by Microsoft Corporation and in no way represents the feelings of the author or institution." Colleges and universities should welcome these contributions but should remain impartial to the support of their products.
