The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY

Responses

Basically, the fact that you had material on Microsoft to print on a Web site just shows that Microsoft is up to no good by buying off academics who are willing to sell out.

Blame slimy IS Managers just as much as Microsoft. Everyone does have a price! IS on campuses exists to serve the computing needs of its community, not to dictate platform and certainly not to dictate where academics and students should spend their money. Microsoft has only recognized how weak IS Departments are because of lame educational funding, so of course it's to their advantage to offer "deals"... but just look at the strings.
