COLLOQUY Responses

Having lived for the past five years, contiguous to the campus of my alma mater, I've had ample opportunity to scan "fashion." It seems to me that the "vogue" is somewhat trapped in the rebellious sixties, if not in specific form/color/textures, certainly in a glossed-over scruffiness. This seems to be the case, even among those faculty members from which one might expect a more independent "presentation." How refreshing to the eye to see, however seldom, a staff-member who "presents" with personal self-dignity to his/her students. As a visual-design educator, I am hard-pressed not to disassociate external form from internal content; we are preached the adage of not pre-judging a book by its cover, but in an ever-evolving visually-dominant world, that belief is an anachronism. Down with dressing-down!
