The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY

Responses

Student surveys indicate they want to be able to tell us apart from the cleaning crew, but more importantly, in a business school we teach students more than accounting and computers. We need to prepare students for the real world of business and everything, including how to dress, business dinners, and resume and interview skills are important. Whether we like it or not, we are often judged on first impressions. Our dress, hair style, tatoos, and wild jewelry may detract from the skills we bring to a job.
