Some of the responses below seem to be taking this issue too seriously: the life of the mind vs. the trivial notion of the cut of one's wear.

Actually, I found the poll to be quite amusing. Indeed, even the hoary New York Times has been printing an occasional cartoon from Feiffer or Trudeau in the past few years.

Maybe, at least with this issue, we should lighten up.
