The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY

To be honest, fair, and thorough in grading one need not become a social worker. Do students who work part time or full time get higher grades? Do students with children receive higher marks? Should we also consider the student's high school? Grades reflect evaluation of performance in the course; Dr. Holmes merits an "F" for "fraud" perpetrated on taxpayers, on employers, and on students who may never know who earned and who was given the "A."
