We're asking the wrong questions. The concept of the library as a calm, quiet bastion of learning is becoming less relevant to our students, and we will probably not be able to reverse that trend, at least for the majority of students. Enticing students into the library with coffee is only a mere footnote in evolution of the library. The more important questions are, how do we teach students the skills they need to take full advantage of the resources that are available in the virtual library, and what more do we need to do to make the virtual library as successful as the physical library has been for the last 2000 (or so) years?
