The Chronicle of Higher Education: Colloquy

COLLOQUY
THE QUESTION
RESPONSES
BACKGROUND

Peter Singer should be very happy he is not disabled. I don't understand theologians and philosophers who are saying that having a disability is a sin from God. They need to have a life or spend some time outside of campus in the workplaces. Sure, his issue is political ideological divided. Ever wonder why conservative Republicans have more experiences raising children with disabilities than liberal Democrats? If all disabled fetus and babies were aborted or killed, then what's the point of having disabled students services offices at almost every colleges and universities spending thousands of dollars on sign language interpreters; Braille readers; wheelchair accessibility projects and other needs?
