The University of Roehampton is London’s only collegiate campus university. The four colleges, Digby Stuart, Froebel, Southlands and Whitelands, all date back to the 1800’s. Roehampton remains loyal to the values and traditions of the four colleges and they form the core of our strength as an institution including the fundamental belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities, a commitment to encouraging the integrity and potential of individuals and a passion for the highest quality of education and scholarship.

Roehampton is proud of its international community which includes students from more than 110 countries, a growing number of home students choosing to spend a period of study abroad, international staff and faculty, Roehampton staff engaged in international research and an ever-expanding network of overseas partner institutions and organisations. The University has recently been chosen to participate in the Brazilian Science Without Borders scholarship scheme. As part of its commitment to harnessing its academic strengths for the benefit of the wider society, both in the UK and overseas, Roehampton is actively engaged in capacity building projects.

London is one of the world’s greatest knowledge capitals, and is home to a wealth of internationally renowned facilities such as libraries and museums available to students. Culturally the city is an international centre for film, music, sport, nightlife, theatre, fashion and art. Not only is this important from a social and cultural perspective, it also means that London is a perfect place to develop networks that could help benefit students’ future careers.

The University of Roehampton has “the best record for research among all modern universities in the UK" (The Sunday Times University Guide, 2010).The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), which assesses research excellences across all UK universities, showed that Roehampton’s Dance and Biological Anthropology research was considered the very best in the country; and over half of all the University's submissions ranked within the top 30 in the UK. Roehampton’s teaching is driven by its research and students are taught by researchers who are leaders in their field.

At the University of Roehampton there is a strong emphasis on supporting students to reach their full potential and helping them to launch themselves onto successful graduate careers.
