PolyU Global Student Challenge
PolyU has launched an inaugural annual global business plan competition to bring secondary and university students, who are creative and with business flair, from all over the world to present their ideas to influential entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and academics. This is the unique opportunity to turn their sparkling ideas into innovative products or services. The finals will be staged in PolyU campus on 7th and 10th June 2010. A series of activities will be held from 5 - 13th June aiming to provide an all rounded experience for finalists, from training to excursions in Hong Kong

Beijing Olympics & Beyond
PolyU enjoys close relationships with the Chinese national sports authorities. Since 2005, the University has been working closely with national artistic gymnastics and tennis squads. In 2006, PolyU further became a partner in research and technology development of the Chinese Olympic Committee and in 2007 a long-term collaborative partner of National Sports Training Centre. Its Faculty of Health and Social Sciences also sent its experts in a broad range of disciplines to help the athletes prepare for the Beijing Olympics.

Postgraduate Scholarship and Studentship at PolyU for outstanding students worldwide
PolyU is actively recruiting outstanding students worldwide for nomination to a PhD Fellowship Scheme offered by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC). Successful candidates will receive from the PolyU and RGC a generous package of approximately USD114,000, covering tuition, monthly stipend and annual conference travel allowance. Application deadline: 1 December 2009.

GSB has been ranked Asia's Top 3 and world's Top 70 business schools based on research contributions in the world's top 24 business research journals, putting the School prominently on the world map. It has a significant jump of 12 places to seize 66th position in the latest 2004-2008 independent ranking exercise conducted by The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).

PolyU Alumnus Ms Vivienne Tam has dazzled the global fashion followers with her signature East-meets-West innovative designs. She has founded her own fashion house in New York just 5 years after graduation in 1983, then created her own brand in 1994, with collections predominantly labeled "Made in Hong Kong/ China".

Taking steps to advance world-class hospitality education
Well known as the pioneer of hotel and tourism education in Hong Kong, the School of Hotel and Tourism Management in PolyU is building a dedicated teaching hotel, which will also house conference facilities and research centres. The School has also proudly soared to rank fourth in the world and top in Asia based on research and scholarship in industry journal.
