  • First Commonwealth Productization Center

    Millersville University has received a Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) University/Business Infrastructure Seed Grant to establish the Computer Software Productization Center (CSPC). The Center is founded on the expertise of MU faculty and students, as well as local community advisors. The CSPS initiative, the first of its kind in the Commonwealth, involves interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Millersville Professor Searching for a Cure

    Drs. Stanley and Doris Lefkowitz, retired faculty from Texas Tech School of Medicine are searching for a cure for MD. Not only is Doris Lefkowitz, Stanley Lefkowitz's wife, affected by MD but so is their son. Doris Lefkowitz and her son were diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral (FSH) Muscular Dystrophy. About 35 years ago, the family heard of an experimental treatment for MD available in Japan. The treatment was a success, but the scientist who prepared the treatment suddenly died and the drug was lost. 

  • Doing Their Part for the Environment

    With the release of Al Gore's documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," the effect of greenhouse gases (GHG) on the global environment has become an issue of greater significance to many people. Students in Dr. Kathleen Schreiber's, geography, "Climate and Society" course have begun compiling a GHG inventory for the Millersville University campus.

    Magnitude 5.2 Earthquake Rattles U.S. Midwest-April 18, 2008. Small Earthquake Hits Near Reading, PA-December 13, 2006. Pennsylvania's biggest earthquake, 5.2 magnitude, occurred on September 25, 1998. What do these earthquakes have in common? All were recorded by Millersville University's seismograph.  

  • Walker Center Opens

    Former Congressman Bob Walker was joined by Millersville President Francine G. McNairy and William Reuter, chairman, president and CEO of Susquehanna Bancshares, on December 10 to announce the Robert and Sue Walker Center for Civic Responsibility and Leadership. The Center will be part of the Civic and Community Engagement and Research Project (CCERP) on campus.
