Lawrence Lessig, a Stanford University law professor and digital-copyright theorist, will let Web surfers take a stab at editing one of his best-known books. Mr. Lessig has posted the entire text of Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace, a 1999 treatise on technology regulation, online as a "wiki"—a site that lets visitors edit its contents. The revisions made by visitors to the site will appear in a new book, Code v.2, which Mr. Lessig plans to release later this year.
