Researchers at Osaka University say their new robot, which resembles a young Japanese woman, is the most lifelike android ever created. The robot, named Repliee Q1, can’t stand up on its own, but it can flutter its eyelids, mimic human breathing, and interact with people.

"We have found that people forget she is an android while interacting with her," says Hiroshi Ishiguro, the professor who leads Repliee Q1’s design team. (BBC News)
