University Uses Web Videos to Show Off Student Research

October 31, 2006, 2:41 pm

Eager to demonstrate that it gives undergraduates a chance to do original research, the University of Richmond has created a Web site full of video clips of students discussing their research projects.

The Web site is run by the Richmond Research Institute, which helps encourage student research at the university. The site features information on more than 60 student-research projects in a variety of disciplines. The videos themselves are simple and pretty bland: Most of them consist of the students reading a brief statement about their research topic. Some of the student profiles also include other materials, however. —Jeffrey R. Young
