U. of Florida Tells Its Students Not to Redirect Their E-Mail

March 18, 2005, 1:53 pm

Can a college force students to read their e-mail? Officials at the University of Florida may find out.

Officials say they’re enforcing the new rule because many commercial accounts popular with students—like Hotmail and America Online—come with spam filters that automatically block out mass e-mail messages about financial and academic requirements.
