Many college professors have long had a love-hate relationship with their e-mail accounts: Corresponding with students is great in theory, but it can become something of a hassle in practice.
And the practice isn’t getting any more pleasant. For today’s crop of students, no question is too trivial to merit a dashed-off e-mail message, according to some faculty members. And when students aren’t writing professors to ask what kind of notebook they should buy, they’re sending messages that are entitled, informal, and often inappropriate. (The New York Times)
