Norfolk State University officials are tickled to have an outstanding computer hacker on their payroll. His job is to secure the campus computer system. Andrea Di Fabio, a computer-security expert, recently helped a Norfolk State team win an "ethical hacking" contest among academic security professionals, sponsored by Educause, a higher-education-technology consortium. The goal: Be the first to break into a secure computer network. With Mr. Di Fabio in charge of Norfolk State’s computer systems, says his boss, “It makes me go home at night comfortable.â€?
