A student accused of stealing computer equipment from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts has been ordered by a district court to pay $3,315 in restitution and perform 100 hours of community service. The student, John Medon, admitted to the crime, although the court has not yet ordered a guilty finding.
Mr. Medon and another student, John Speight, are suspected of stealing $4,394 worth of computer equipment from the college. Police say they caught the pair in a sting operation as they tried to sell equipment to a computer-store owner.
