In a weekly video blog, Ohio University’s tech-support staff members review new gadgets and provide tips on using technology in the classroom. So far 18 episodes of the blog, "Ask the Techies," have been produced, covering such topics as the "iPod as an Educational Tool." The hosts mix humor with geek knowledge. When listing the things to do with an iPod on the campus, for instance, Daryl Royer, from the university’s Academic Advancement Center, jokes that "you can record things that your friends are talking about" to use for blackmail — "you can do a lot of things with that application." He and his co-host, D. Lee Beard, coordinator of the center’s computer lab, go on to explain how to put PowerPoint slides on a photo iPod and then connect it to a television to give a presentation without using a laptop. The site invites viewers to send in their own questions.
