This event is sure to attract a lot of tech-savvy students. The virtual world Second Life’s “teen grid,” a region exclusively for teenagers, will be the site of a college fair this weekend. Just like at a regular college fair, students will be able to chat with college representatives and get help filling out applications and financial-aid forms. The students and officials at this fair, though, will interact via digital characters.

Among the institutions participating will be Pennsylvania State University, England’s University of Oxford, the University of Kentucky, and Vassar College. —Andrea L. Foster
