Saying ‘Yes’ to Skype

February 3, 2006, 2:19 pm

The University of Oxford has lifted a ban on Skype, a popular program that lets users make free phone calls over the Internet. University officials had feared that, by allowing use of the software, they would, in effect, invite students to clog the campus computer network with lengthy long-distance chat sessions. One Response to Saying ‘Yes’ to Skype

I’ve never written or edited a book, but I am an academic editor for a scientific journal (PLoS ONE), and in that role I shepherd submitted manuscripts through peer review and publication (or rejection). It is, indeed, pretty rewarding, but not as exciting as publishing shitte from my own labbe.

BTW, in relation to the racist Republican attacks on black Democratic politicians under the cover of legal process, is there anything Republicans do that *isn’t* just grossly depraved and morally bankrupt?
