QuickWire: New-Media Expert Clay Shirky Expands Role at NYU

During Clay Shirky‘s time teaching at New York University, first as an adjunct and then as an “associate teacher,” he has become one of the most prominent experts on the impact of new media on society. Today NYU officials announced that Mr. Shirky will become a faculty member at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute in addition to teaching in the Interactive Telecommunications Program (where one of his students went on to create the social-networking site Foursquare).
