Playing Hooky With the Internet

Attendance in Australia’s lecture halls is down—and experts say it’s the Internet’s fault. College students don’t feel the need to show up for class, professors complain, because they expect to be able to find all the course material they need online.

Those professors have been left to debate: Does attendance matter? If so, what can be done to draw students back to the lecture hall?
