Music-Industry Lawyer Joins a Campus Piracy Powwow

Many college students know of the Recording Industry Association of America only through its antipiracy lawsuits, but the industry group may be trying to soften its image on campuses. During a town-hall-style meeting on file swapping at the Georgia Institute of Technology, a lawyer with the group fielded questions and told students that music piracy had "decimated" the music industry. More than 600 students showed up for the meeting, demonstrating that song sharing remains a hot topic among campus network users.
