Keeping Podcasts for Posterity

A filmmaker from the Boston area is attempting to build the world’s largest collection of podcasts—even though he has no plans to listen to most of the material he collects. Jason Scott, the filmmaker, says that most podcasts—amateur recordings that Web users can automatically download to their portable MP3 players—are banal at best. But he has collected thousands of recordings, he says, because podcasting is "the largest self-service anthropology project under way." (Wired News)
