"Podcasting"—a fast-growing technology that allows iPod users to subscribe to feeds of frequently updated audio content—appears to have hit it big with at least one demographic. A growing number of preachers and armchair theology experts are now hosting religious programs—with names like "The GodCast Network" and "The Pagan Power Hour"—and making them available online.
Some college students say they’ve listened to "godcasts" when they couldn’t make it to church. But many theology professors are less thrilled with the technology: They worry that, for some people, iPod listening sessions could come to replace churchgoing.
