A Dell laptop overheated and caught fire at West Virginia Wesleyan University, and the batteries of several other models have been recalled after similar incidents. Dell is not alone in recalling laptop batteries recently. Other computer companies — among them Apple and Hewlett-Packard — have also recalled some of their laptop batteries because of fire risks.
