Last summer George Washington University struck a deal with Napster—and an anonymous donor—to offer students free subscriptions to the legal music service. Only about one in three eligible students chose to sign up with Napster, but that was enough to keep campus officials happy: Working with the same donor, they’ve renewed the service for the coming academic year. Once again, students will be able to sign up with Napster for free.
