Duke University caught iPod fever long ago. After all, the university at one point gave out free iPods to all freshmen and now makes them available to students in certain courses. Today Duke’s business school announced that it is giving away audio and video of public lectures and some materials about the school through its own section of Apple’s iTunes music store.
The school joins a long list of academic institutions to make use of iTunes in the hopes of reaching out to alumni and others interested in the college. Should more colleges use podcasts in their marketing? Or is this just a passing fad?
