Computer Science’s Senior Citizens

There aren’t many computer-science programs old enough to be celebrating their golden anniversaries. Then again, there aren’t many departments with a track record like Carnegie Mellon’s.

More than 500 IT experts gathered this weekend to celebrate the university’s 50 years of computing research — and to watch Carnegie Mellon’s 12th annual Mobot Races, an event in which engineers design their own autonomous driving machines. (The Tartan)
