To liven up their lectures, a number of professors are embracing technology that lets students answer quiz questions from their seats. By outfitting students with devices that resemble remote controls, the professors can take instant polls to see if key concepts are sinking in—and, perhaps, to keep students from falling asleep in the back rows.
