Boston College Is Hit by a Hacker

Another day, another campus hacking incident: Boston College officials have announced that an intruder  breached a database containing the personal information of some 120,000 alumni. Campus officials are sending warning letters to everyone whose data may have been exposed.  The hacked machine was maintained by an unnamed outside contractor, not the college. The incident comes at a time when many colleges have expressed concerns about the security of their data on commercially run servers.
