The Internet Archive has released new software, called Archive-It 1.5, that lets colleges and museums create their own searchable catalogs of data and multimedia. The software — available for an annual fee of $10,000 — allows institutions to manage digital collections comprising as many as 10 million items as part of the archive’s main project, a comprehensive online library showing the evolution of every site on the Web.
