The next generation of American space shuttles may come equipped with video cameras created at Florida Atlantic University. Researchers there have devised a high-resolution camera that can take a clear picture of a one-inch object from a mile away, and that weighs less than 4 pounds.
Scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration say they may use the camera to examine orbiting space shuttles for damage that could pose a problem during the descent to Earth, and to take pictures of astronauts at work. (South Florida Sun-Sentinel)
