A famed psychiatrist has lost up to $3-million at the hands of e-mail scammers, according to his son. Louis Gottschalk, an 89-year-old emeritus professor at the University of California at Irvine, ostensibly fell for a "Nigerian" e-mail scheme that offered him a significant amount of money if he helped move an even larger sum out of a foreign bank account.
Mr. Gottschalk disputes his son’s account, arguing that he lost a total of only $900,000 due to "some bad investments." (ZDNet UK)
