Some students at Princeton University say the institution didn’t go far enough when it it drafted its newly announced policy on campus-police use of Facebook. The policy prohibits officers from idly skimming the social-networking site, but it still allows them to log on and conduct research for ongoing investigations.
The editors of The Daily Princetonian don’t have much sympathy for their classmates who are crying foul, though. A staff editorial argues that students, now aware of the university’s stance on Facebook, have no excuse to complain when they get in hot water for posting incriminating photos on the site. "The right to post pictures of last night’s party is not protected by some infinitely large right to privacy," the editors write. (The Daily Princetonian)
