Thefacebook—the popular online social network created by a student at Harvard University—has taken colleges across the country by storm. Now, the site is headed for Silicon Valley.
Accel Partners, a Californian venture-capital firm, is pouring $13-million into the upstart company, and Jim Breyer, one of Accel’s managing partners, will join thefacebook’s board. Mr. Breyer will sit alongside Mark Zuckerberg, the site’s creator, and the founders of two recent dot-com success stories: Napster and PayPal. (The New York Times)
