True Crime

The following reports were taken from campus police logs:

U. OF NEW ORLEANS
3:20 p.m., April 14

Suspicious person, Bicentennial Education Center. Unknown male subject (5'9″ to 6'0″ tall, 205-210 lbs.) wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a white mask (with only eyes cut out) entered a closed classroom while the class was in session. Subject then pointed an umbrella at the teacher and pushed a button extending the umbrella. The subject then fled the area via unknown route. Status: open.

7:05 p.m., June 25
Trespass — prowler, Bicentennial Education Center. A black male subject was found by the occupant of the office on his desk top computer. When the subject heard the police coming, he ran in an unknown direction. The subject was identified by his Facebook page that he had been viewing on the computer. Status: open.

10:20 a.m., July 11
Criminal mischief, Fine Arts Building. Instructor reported that portraits were painted on previously white walls on the north, east, and south sides of the practice studio; as well as yellow paint spread across the exit doors, lockers, and floors. Status: open.

U. OF KANSAS
5:50 p.m., May 14

Criminal threat, Lewis Hall. A passenger in a limo threatened to kill a man standing outside the limo if he didn't stop following them. The altercation stemmed from two rival bookstores attempting to get customers for the book buy-back period.

11:28 a.m. May 15

Possession of drug paraphernalia, Oliver Hall. A man was issued a notice to appear in court after a smoking pipe was found in his room by his roommate's father. The man admitted that he was keeping it for a friend. Residue from the pipe tested positive for THC, an active chemical found in marijuana.

VANDERBILT U.
10 p.m., June 29

Theft from building, Vanderbilt University Hospital. Money and a bag of Cheetos were stolen from a purse. Disposition: active.

DUKE U.
5:30 p.m., June 29

Bryan Center. Theft of milkshake makers. Status: pending

HARVARD U.
12:16 p.m., July 6

Suspicious activity, Cabot House I. Officers dispatched to a report that the toilet seat in their bathroom was not the way they left it. Officers arrived and searched the area and report all was in order. Status: closed.

4:47 p.m., July 10
Suspicious activity, Jordan Hall North. Officer dispatched to a report of animal carcass on top of a bicycle. Officer arrived and reports it was a stuffed animal and all is in order. Status: closed.

NORTH CAROLINA STATE U.
2:26 p.m., July 15

Check person. Wolf Village Lot. Officer spoke with juveniles in the area frog hunting. Subjects complied to leave the area.
