Beer Pong and Swine Flu Make for a Nasty Hangover

October 13, 2009, 9:00 am

College students are usually a pretty generous lot, but when it comes to sharing beer-pong cups, campus health officials at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute would like them to be a little less so.

The Albany Times Union reports that a group of Rensselaer students got together for a weekend of drinking games after a football game, and now several of them have the H1N1 virus. The university has 21 cases of influenza among its students, including about 14 active cases.

A number of faculty and staff members have experienced flu-like symptoms as well. Presumably beer pong was not the culprit.

Last sentence defies imagination. Why would anybody presume that? I would hope that RPI faculty like to have fun, too.
