A wildfire that has burned about 16,000 acres prompted the closure today of Moorpark College, a two-year institution about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times described the blaze as about half a mile away from a community near the campus. The college has not said when it will reopen but is posting updates on its Web site.
