The rector of the National Autonomous University of Honduras was among those beaten by the police on Wednesday during a demonstration by students against the military-backed ouster in June of the country’s president, the news agency Agence France-Presse reported. The rector, Julieta Castellanos, stepped in to separate the police from the protesters but was herself then beaten to the ground.

Nobody should be beaten by the police, but this wasn’t a coup. It was a constitutional removal of a President.

No democratically elected president should be removed by coup, but this wasn’t a “beating” by police. It was a constitutional enforcement of law and order.
