The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday decided not to hear a challenge to a ruling over whether the University of Wisconsin at Madison could refuse to distribute student fees to a group of Roman Catholic students. In September the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ruled, 2 to 1, that the university could not exclude Badger Catholic from receiving student fees for activities like worship, proselytizing, and religious instruction. The Supreme Court’s decision not to hear an appeal means the appeals-court ruling will stand.
