The endowment that benefits the University of Texas and Texas A&M University systems lost $2.6-billion last year, dropping from $17.8-billion to $15.2-billion, according to The Austin American-Statesman. For the two university systems, the good news is that the endowment—overseen by the University of Texas Investment Management Company—outperformed those of other wealthy institutions.
