U. of Ottawa Settles With Researcher Who Was Fired in 2008

The University of Ottawa has reached a settlement with a postdoctoral researcher who sued after her sudden dismissal in December 2008, the Ottawa Citizen reported. The researcher, Meizhen Dang, had worked in the physics laboratory of Denis Rancourt, a professor who had been suspended that month and was later fired in a dispute over his grading policy. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Ms. Dang told the newspaper she was satisfied with it.
