U. of Northern Colorado Didn’t Ignore Complaints About Professor, Report Says

November 3, 2009, 6:19 pm

The University of Northern Colorado did not ignore many complaints over the years that a 63-year-old theater professor, Raymond Vance Fulkerson, had inappropriately sought out students for sex, according to a report released today by the Mountain States Employers Council, a Denver-based nonprofit organization that the university hired to investigate the allegations. Rather, The Denver Post reported, the investigation found only that people who had lodged complaints were never told what disciplinary action had been taken as a result. But the Post has heard from more than a dozen students who say they received unwanted sexual contact with Mr. Fulkerson at times over a period of 30 years. Meanwhile, Mr. Fulkerson, who resigned his tenured post in September, faces 15 counts of sexual misconduct with at least 13 young men.

His name was “Fulkerson.” Is the “l” silent? You guys should be on Leno’s staff!

Of course they didn’t ignore the student claims of sexual harassment over a 30 year period. They responded at the pace consistent with the norm at all Amerian Colleges and Universities. That pace is typically one or both of two speeds, slow or stop. No story here. Let’s all move on.

He had “inappropriately sought out students for sex,” as opposed to doing so appropriately.
