The University of Georgia will not appeal a judge’s order to remove from a former journalism-school dean’s personnel file all references to a sexual-harassment investigation of him four years ago, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. The move could pave the way for settlement of a 2006 lawsuit filed by former dean, John Soloski, who resigned from the post after a worker said his comments made her uncomfortable and the campus’s Office of Legal Affairs said he had sexually harassed her. The judge ruled in March that the office had exceeded its authority in investigating comments that could not be considered harassment.
