U. of Colorado to Set Aside Housing for Students With Concealed-Carry Permits

The University of Colorado’s Boulder and Colorado Springs campuses will create residential areas for students over the age of 21 who possess permits to carry concealed weapons. The new policy, announced on Thursday, comes in response to a state Supreme Court ruling in March that said the university could not ban permit holders from bringing concealed handguns onto its campuses. The new rule requires permit holders to store a gun in a safe when it is not being carried. It also bars concealed weapons from other residential areas, and from ticketed athletic and cultural events.
